An NYCFC Milestone and Dos a Cero Returns To Ohio / Ep 344 / Blue City Radio

Episode 344:

NYCFC celebrated the ribbon cutting of their 50th mini pitch last week with other project partners in China Town. In addition to opening the mini pitch the club and NY City First Lady also announced activation events starting next year as well as an additional 26 sites to be built over the next five years. At the event Mike Anderer sat down with NYCFC CEO, Brad Sims, to get some updates on the club and his thoughts on achieving the goal of 50 in 5 years.

In the second segment Mike and J.R. invite soccer writing legend Michael Lewis to the show to breakdown the exciting game between USA and Mexico from Cincinatti. Yes, I did sing the theme song to WKRP as we drove in from the airport.

In the last segment Mike and J.R. talk with Dawn Birmingham about her first World Cup Qualifier.

LEXIT, NYCFC Effect and USAvMEX / Ep 96 / Blue City Radio

Episode 96:

This week’s episode kicks off with a look at the legacy of Frank Lampard as he announces his departure from NYCFC.  Season Ticket Holder and Third Rail member Tony Larsen joins the show to discuss that topic but also two NYCFC-ish events in NY from last week.  First was a fundraiser for the South Bronx United with Jack Harrison and Jimmy Conrad.  The second was a Third Rail end of season event with honorees David Villa, Andoni Iraola and guests Patrick Vieira and RJ Allen.

After the break Andy Maycraft (sorry Leah was busy insulting Mike Francessa on her own vblog) from A View from 226 joins us to discuss USAvMEX from Columbus.

The show closes with a little deeper dive into the shortlist of players fans have been throwing out as replacements for the departing DP.
