10 Years of NYCFC with Trey Fillmore From Blue Balls Pod / Ep 412 / Blue City Radio

Episode 412:

This is a personal favorite episode for Producer and Host Mike Anderer. It is a favorite because it is an evergreen episode. Yes, there is conversation about the game of the week and some details that will put a virtual timestamp on the episode, but overall this is a broad stroke conversation about NYCFC and the club’s impact on two reporters that have been part of the media landscape since the very beginning.

This week Mike Anderer and J.R. DeBart invite Trey Fillmore from Blue Balls Podcast on as a guest. During the episode the three discuss the recently released stadium renderings, the most current MLS Players Salary data and of course the draw in Orlando, but the most important segment is the dive into the early stages of covering NYCFC. Blue City Radio and Blue Balls Podcast share the unique honor of being the earliest podcasts and dedicated media sources covering NYCFC.

Taking Care Of Orlando and a Chat With Kevin O’Toole / Ep 383 / Blue City Radio

Episode 383:

NYCFC came out a little sloppy looking after their two week break. A close call took away a potential first half lead. Then the Boys In Blue would let one sneak in on a long throw set piece.

But Nick Cushing has found the magic for this team and two 60th minute subs would be enough to get the victory and leapfrog into third place in the Eastern Conference.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen take a look at the action from Sunday in Red Bull Arena, then in the second segment they are joined by NYCFC defender, Kevin O’Toole (@ktooleszn) to discuss his path to MLS and how MLS Next Pro has helped him prepare for first team minutes.

The guys spend a few minutes at the end to address the USMNT friendlies from last week and the damning report released by US Soccer on the allegations of rampant sexual misconduct in women’s professional soccer.

Moralez(s)-Less In Orlando / Ep 318 / Blue City Radio

Episode 318:

Ronny Deila had one of his toughest lineups to choose in the early 2021 season as the club would be without Maxi Moralez and Alfredo Morales for the team’s first match up against OCSC since being eliminated from the playoffs last year.

James Sands centered the back three and the team held the Lions scoreless until the 52 minute. Some late changes would be enough for NYCFC to escape with the road point.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen discuss the game and share some audio from Ronny Deila, Anton Tinnerholm and James Sands.

Kreis Doing Kreis Things And A Look At Orlando / Ep 313 / Blue City Radio

Episode 313:

For the third straight Summer Olympic Games the United States will not be sending a team. The U23’s lost their semi-final match to emerging Concacaf powerhouse Honduras. U23 Head Coach, Jason Kreis, was criticized for his roster selection, his in game decisions and his post game comments to the team following the loss.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen talk about the impact of missing out on another cycle. In the second segment Michael Citro from The Mane Land joins the show to preview what Orlando City has been doing in the offseason.

Not Gudi ‘Nough / Ep 303 / Blue City Radio

Episode 303:

Seriously, what can you say about NYCFC in the MLS Cup Playoffs. Despite having a very good road record, the club’s road playoff woes continue to haunt them. This year not only did the team lose in dramatic fashion, but it also solidified a rivalry that the league had been forcing since both Orlando City and NYCFC joined the league.

But in true NYCFC form, the playoff loss is not the biggest story of the week. Pablo Maurer from the Athletic released an in depth article detailing the allegations from former intern, Skyler Badillo.

This week the guys address the article, the club’s response thus far and what steps need to take place. They also have the author of the article, Pablo Maurer (@MLSist) on the show to discuss how the piece came together.

1 Out Of 6 / Ep 299 / Blue City Radio

Episode 299:

NYCFC had two away matches this week traveling to Orlando on Wednesday and then Columbus on Sunday.

The team would only be able to earn one point out of the possible six.

Mike and Mike Allen welcome Justin Egan from The Outfield to breakdown the two games and to try and see if there is a solution or reason for hope for the club in 2020.

No Love from MLS Analysts and Orlando Preview / Ep 218 / Blue City Radio

Episode 218:

The season is here.  Now is a time for optimism and excitement.  But if you only get your opinions from the analysts at MLS Studios you might be pretty sour about NYCFC’s chances to make the season worth watching.

Mike, Jon and J.R. take a look at the Nashville tune up from last Friday.  They also welcome Gavin Ewbank from The Orlando Soccer Show to preview the season opener.  Lastly, they take a team by team look at the Eastern Conference to try and understand why some pundits think that NYCFC is not a playoff caliber team.  And lastly, they answer your questions.

Winning Without El Capitan, Kiera Smith on NYCFC and Mata Suffers a Setback / Ep 161 / Blue City Radio

Epsiode 161:

Some fans were already on their way to the stadium when the news broke that David Villa and Anton Tinnerholm were late scratches to NYCFC line-up.  Neither player were seen at training earlier in the week, but the hopes were that they would be fit by game time.  In previous years this news would rattle the NYCFC faithful, but with the creative play of new DP Jesus Medina and the promise of seeing a longer run out by Ismael Tajouri-Shradi there was still hope in their hearts.

Mike and J.R. welcome Kiera Smith from MLS Female to  the show as the trio breakdown  the key plays of Saturday’s matchup.
