Thank You Zlatan For the 3 Points / Ep 229 / Blue City Radio

Episode 229:

This week NYCFC continued its month long road trip with a journey to LA and that trip came at just the right time as the Galaxy have been struggling to find their early season mojo. The LA squad was also playing their second game this week after losing 3-1 away at Columbus.

Mike, Jon and J.R. are joined by Ivan (@110by70) to discuss the key plays from Saturday. They also look at what the new formation does to NYCFC’s depth as they move toward the dog days of summer and the schedule congested end of the season.

In the final segment the guys respond to the listeners’ first trimester grades for the club.

Dirt Poor Performance / Ep 224 / Blue City Radio

Episode 224:

In what is quickly becoming the oddest year for NYCFC the club left Yankee Stadium embarassed.  Not only were they unable to score against a team that the previous week had conceded seven goals to Sporting Kansas City, they also held a man advantage for twenty plus minutes, but worse than all was the condition on the pitch.

NYCFC and CFG need to take full advantage of the next two games on the road and figure out what went wrong before the team hosts Chicago and Orlando in late April.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen are joined by NYCFCTactics to discuss the draw and look at solutions that the team can employ to change their direction.

Pirlo’s Final Five Minutes and a Visit From Trey Fillmore / Ep 144 / Blue City Radio

Episode 144:

NYCFC’s season came to end after an elimination victory (yes soccer is a weird sport) versus Columbus.  With the end of their 2017 season, so too ends the career of Andrea Pirlo, a true legend of the game.

Mike and Jon talk about leg 1 of the MLS Conference Semifinals.  Then Trey Fillmore from Blue Balls Pod joins the guys to talk about leg 2.

Stoppage Time Thriller and Susannah Collins / Ep 132 / Blue City Radio

Episode 132:

A crazy game in the Bronx on Sunday as NYCFC used just about every minute of the 5 added in stoppage time to pull out a victory against the struggling New England Revolution.

A game that was forgettable through the first half became one of lore as David Villa and Jonathon Lewis delivered the equalizer and game winner in a final 45 full of drama.

Mike and Jon look at the game and try to understand where NYCFC was struggling to create.

In the second segment Susannah Collins, host of This Week in MLS and By The Way (BTW), joins the guys to discuss NYCFC, MLS, TFC and her beloved Liverpool.

We Love LA, Rev’s Preview and Looking Back at Dropped Points / Ep 131 / Blue City Radio

Episode 131:

I hope the NYCFC team staff bottled some of the water from the hotel the team stayed at during their extended trip to LA, because whatever was in it made Sean Johnson invincible.

Yes, the LA Galaxy have struggled in Stub Hub Center.  Yes, LA only put five of their 21 shots on target. But, those five were quality chances and Johnson came up big in every chance.

Mike and Jon discuss the team’s victory on the west coast and how Patrick Vieira will have to fill the void left by Alex Ring who will miss Sunday’s match for Yellow Card accumulation.

In the second segment Matt Puglise from Six States One Pod joins Mike to discuss the upcoming match as the New England Revolution come to town.
