The Blues Brothers of NYCFC / Ep 401 / Blue City Radio

Episode 401:

NYCFC played their second game of the 2023 season and it was a 1-1 draw in Chicago. While the result and the progression of play was important the real story of the week was the return of two Championship caliber players, James Sands and Santi Rodriguez.

But even that is not the headline of this week’s episode. The real treat for listeners and NYCFC fans is the interview in the second segment as Joe Tolleson and Ian Joy reunite on the microphones to chat NYCFC with the guys.

In the final segment Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen share their recap of the draw from Chicago and also listen to a brief interview captured at training with Andres Jasson.

Chatting with Joe Tolleson / Ep 245 / Blue City Radio

Episode 245:

NYCFC got three points on their away trip to Vancouver, but it could prove to be a costly three points as the fulcrum for the team’s early turn around, Heber, left the match in the tenth minute complaining about tightness in his right quadriceps.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen talk about the game, the lack of defensive options for the next two games with six NYCFC players receiving international call-ups. In the second segment, Joe Tolleson from the Yes Network joins the show to discuss NYCFC’s 2019 campaign.

The Waiting Is the Hardest Part / Ep 183 / Blue City Radio

Episode 183:

It really doesn’t feel like MLS is on a break.  Between last week’s Wednesday night matches and the US Open Cup games featuring some key MLS duels it is difficult to digest this week as part of the two-week break MLS was taking for the FIFA World Cup.

Alternatively, it also feels like an eternity since NYCFC hosted Atlanta United at Yankee Stadium.  So much has happened to the second place team in the Eastern Conference.

Mike and J.R. sit down with Joe Tolleson from Sirius XM and Yes Network joins us on the Gabila’s Knish Hotline to digest the news and look ahead at how it might impact NYCFC and their quest for MLS Cup.

We also have training audio as Ben Sweat and Sean Johnson share their initial thoughts on the NYCFC coaching changes occurring during the break.  Lastly, we bring the media scrum with Claudio Reyna and he takes the spotlight in the absence of Domenec Torrent.

Sealing the Deal and a Chat with Joe Tolleson / Ep 93 / Blue City Radio

Episode 93:

NYCFC got the job done. It took a while for them to lock it up, but once they got into the driver’s seat, there was no looking back.  Mike and Jon breakdown the game and look at what Patrick Vieira’s coaching decisions might mean for NYCFC in the playoffs.

In the second segment Joe Tolleson from Yes Network joins the show to share his opinion on NYCFC and MLS as he has been covering the sport since the beginning.
