Shradi Too Hotty And the Thiagol! / Ep 324 / Blue City Radio

Episode 324:

After losing in the late stages of the game versus New England, NYCFC bounced back in a big way defeating Atlanta on Wednesday and then in thrilling fashion downing DC United with a goal that will talked about for decades.

This week the guys take a look back at the two games and where the team sits just under a third of the way through the 2021 campaign.

A Hollywood Thriller / Ep 321 / Blue City Radio

Episode 321:

Wow, what a finish to this one. NYCFC played well throughout the match and Ronny Deila’s team had held the Western Conference powerhouse, LAFC, scoreless through 55 minutes. A defensive lapse at the back post would cost NY a goal and even though NYCFC would equalize a late red card changed the expectations and fans would hope to escape LA with a point.

And then the magic happened… Shradi on the back post off a Morales flick header! All three points to the boys in blue.

This week Mike, J.R. (who was in LA to watch this game live) and Mike Allen break it down for you.

Some of MLSisBack / Ep 284 / Blue City Radio

Episode 284:

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen share audio of NYCFC Brad Sims as he addressed the media via Webex while the team trained in Florida for their first competitive match since March 11.

In the second segment the guys predict a starting XI for the game Thursday morning versus Philadelphia.

The episode ends with interviews from Ismael Tajouri-Shradi, Keaton Parks and Ronny Deila from down in Orlando at the MLS media hub.

Take A Bow, Castellanos / Ep 232 / Blue City Radio

Episode 232:

We kickoff this week’s episode with the celebration of Liverpool’s Champions League victory. Long time listeners are all too well versed on Jon Sauerschell’s love for the club, so he gets the ball rolling with his account of experiencing those moments from Saturday.

Then Mike, Jon and J.R. breakdown the game versus Columbus from Saturday evening. This week’s show also includes training audio with Keaton Parks and Dome Torrent as the guys talk about the match up for Thursday versus FC Cincinnati and also further ahead to the US Open Cup match the following week,

Trois Points Sur La Route / Ep 228 / Blue City Radio

NYCFC began their four game road trip with a dominant performance against a weakened Montreal Impact last Saturday in Stade Saputo. The Boys in Blue continue to demonstrate a more solid understanding of Dome Torrent’s newly adapted system. The team improved both on the attack creating two goals and countless chances while also holding the Impact to zero shots on target.

In this week’s episode Mike, Jon, J.R. and Mike Allen discuss the highlights of the game. They also share some of the listener’s perspectives of NYCFC through the first 10 games of the 2019 season.

There is also post game audio from Sebastian Ibeagha, Sean Johnson, Ben Sweat and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi

Three Goals, One Point / Ep 226 / Blue City Radio

Episode 226:

Minnesota United is living large. Their new building, Allianz Field is stunning. The 19,000 plus stadium is pure eye candy. It is a short train ride from the heart of downtown. It sits on the side of an interstate. 96 tap bar, need I say more?

Luckily for NYCFC fans, the team played their best offensive game of the season. Taty Castellanos scored the first for the away team and Ismael Tajouri-Shradi followed it up with a brace, giving NYCFC the much needed point.

Mike and J.R. welcome Chris Jee from The Outfield to break down this game. The guys also listen to post game audio from Dome Torrent, James Sands, Sean Johnson and Alex Ring.

Baby, It’s Cold Outside / Ep 225 / Blue City Radio

NYCFC head off to Minnesota to help Minnesota United christen their new stadium. While it might not be intentional, there’s no bigger slap in the face to NYCFC after last week’s field fiasco with the Yankee Stadium infield than to have them play the inaugural game at Allianz Field.

This preview episode features audio clips from Anton Tinnerholm, Juan Pablo Torres, Ismael Tajouri-Shradi and Dome Torrent.

Dome Bests Vieira As NYCFC Eliminate the Union / Ep 207 / Blue City Radio

Episode 207:

Credit to Mike Coniaris (a name easier to spell than pronounce) for the title, but the tongue in cheek joke is appropriate.  NYCFC for the first time in club history has won a playoff round.  So in essence, Torrent accomplished something that Vieira failed to do in his two post-season attempts.

This week Mike, J. R. and Nick Chavez break down the game from Halloween night.  They also included the post game comments from Alex Ring, Maxime Chanot, Anton Tinnerholm and Sean Johnson.

And lastly, the guys answer your comments and questions.

Attitude Is Everything / Ep 205 / Blue City Radio

Episode 205:

One thing that NYCFC has succeeded in accomplishing is the identity of a team that finishes the regular season poorly.  That has not translated into Post-season success.  Dome Torrent hopes that his team can turn around the narrative as they face off against Philadelphia Union on Decision Day.

This week’s preview episode includes interviews with Anton Tinnerholm and Dome Torrent.

Stealing 3 Pts From TFC, Getting to Know LI Rough Rider’s Stephen Roche / Ep 193 / Blue City Radio

Episode 193:

NYCFC didn’t play their best game this past Sunday.  In previous seaons, it used to take a team’s best to beat Toronto at home in BMO Field.  Luckily for NYCFC, this is 2018 and even a lackluster performance and flashes of brilliance can be enough.

Mike, Jon and J.R. sit down to discuss the biggest moments from Sunday’s match.  They also crown a Bronx Bomber and a Bronx Cheer recipient for the game.

In the second segment, Dave Harris and Long Island Rough Riders Head Coach, Stephen Roche join the show to talk to us about USL/PDL and NYCFC newcomer, Danny Bedoya.

Lastly, Mike and J.R. wrap up with your comments.
