Ted Unkel Is Not the Reason Why NYCFC Lost In Columbus / Ep 467 / Blue City Radio

Episode 467:

Each week the goal is to find a whimsical title for the episodes but this week required brazen honesty.

NYCFC flew to Columbus and played the reigning MLS Champions to a hard fought 2-2 draw for 90 minutes. The final score would be 4-2 after the home side notched two goals in stoppage time. While NYCFC head coach and players blamed Ted Unkel for the loss, the reality was that NYCFC wasted numerous chances to put the game away.

In the episode Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen go over the game but also take a deep dive into the leadership of the team starting with head coach, Nick Cushing.

Delays, Debuts and Da Silva / Ep 457 / Blue City Radio

Episode 457:

What started as a rainy stormy night became a beautiful evening in the Bronx. NYCFC was poised to take on a formidable foe in the Columbus Crew and hope to maintain their record breaking streak of victories.

Unfortunately three second-half goals by the visitors would be too much for the Pigeons to overcome.

This week Mike Anderer and Mike Allen discuss the key moments from Friday’s loss. In the second segment Mike Anderer is joined by Trey Fillmore, another OG podcaster, from Blue Balls Pod to get into the sentiment postgame in the tunnels of Yankee Stadium.

We hear from Santi Rodriguez, Malachi Jones, and making his NYCFC and MLS debut, Christian McFarlane.

The Justin Haak Redemption Curve / Ep 419 / Blue City Radio

Episode 419:

It was another week for NYCFC with two consecutive draws. Nick Cushing’s squad was hopeful to build off the momentum of the first road win away in Montreal but a poor clearance by defender, Justin Haak, in the Charlotte game would prove to be costly. NYCFC did earn a point in that match thanks to a late goal by Braian Cufre. It was more late heroics in Columbus as Justin Haak entered the history books being the first home grown player to score in a competitive match. Sadly the intensity of Columbus even down a man would prove to be more pressure than NYCFC could absorb.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen look back at the crazy two games and even touch a little on the USMNT as they continue their Gold Cup run.

The Learning Curve Take 4.5 / Ep 376 / Blue City Radio

Chanot Loves NY, As Rochester and Columbus Are Sent packing / Ep 365 / Blue City Radio

Episode 365:

NYCFC struggled in league play during their Champions League run. With the club playing their first US Open Cup match last week and then disposing of the Columbus Crew on Saturday, it seems like the team is better suited to juggle the increase in games better this time around.

This week the guys look back at the two games from last week. They also discuss the new extension for defender Maxime Chanot.

Gold Cup Champions Return, MLS Cup Champions Dismantled / Ep 329 / Blue City Radio

Episode 329:

They achieved that and so much more, winning the competition in dramatic form. Two late goals in each of their last two matches propelled the young squad to the podium at the end.

This week Mike, Mike Allen and Christian Smith from Hudson River Blue discuss the games from this past week. They also include some audio from Ronny Deila and Thiago as they look ahead at a very congested schedule for NYCFC.

Jordan Angeli Makes the Columbus Loss Sufferable / Ep 320 / Blue City Radio

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen breakdown the game and all those missed opportunities for NYCFC.

In the second segment Bally Sports analyst, Jordan Angeli (@jordangeli), joins the show to give her perspective on both The Crew and NYCFC.

1 Out Of 6 / Ep 299 / Blue City Radio

This week Mike, Jon and J.R. take a look at Deila’s choices and the way the two games played out.

They also look at the action from MLS Week 1 and NYCFC’s new signing.

Taty Rising / Ep 243 / Blue City Radio

Episode 243:

NYCFC played two games since our last episode winning both of them. Taty Castellanos proved to be the fulcrum in both victories scoring a brace versus Cincinnati and the lone goal in the game versus Columbus.

In the episode you’ll hear post game comments from Anton Tinnerholm, Sean Johnson and Taty Castellanos.
