USMNT and NYCFC II Double Header / Ep 359 / Blue City Radio

Episode 359:

The USMNT returned from Mexico and easily defeated Panama to all but clinch a spot in the World Cup Finals scheduled for later this year. A hatrick for Christian Pulisic bookended goals from fellow attackers, Paul Arriola and Jesus Ferreira.

In an as equally awaited match up north, NYCFC II would take the field for the first time ever in Queens. The home team losing 4-3 on PK’s after regular time ended 2-2.

This week Mike and Mike Allen discuss the US’s impressive victory in Orlando and then they welcome Blue City Radio contributor, Bjorn Bellenbaum to the show to discuss the action from St. John’s.

Episode 322:

The young talent of the USMNT faced their toughest test to date as a national squad. The challenge was elevated in the first minute of their game versus Mexico in the Nation’s League Final as an error from Mark McKenzie would lead to a goal for El Tri.

Despite that and some other obstacles the Future Is Us generation lifted the trophy after a thrilling finish.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen welcome Chris Campbell of the Outfield to the show to discuss the USMNT game from Sunday and touch base about the newest stadium news for NYCFC.

In a week of mostly bad news for NYCFC, the only bright spot was the 1-1 draw from Red Bull Arena on Friday night.
