NYCFC travelled to the windy city for it’s final regular season game of 2020. The wild first half provided six goals the teams would be deadlocked at halftime. Deila’s Soft Underbelly / Ep 295 / Blue City Radio

Episode 295:

For the second time in three weeks NYCFC traveled up to Gilette Stadium to face the New England Revolution. In the first game a relatively fit NYCFC squad grabbed all three points with a 2-0 victory. The second trip would be much more difficult. Injuries to some key starters as well as a yellow card suspension meant the starting XI for Ronny Deila would be very different.

So was the result. NYCFC still created chances, but they were unable to convert any of them. On the opposite side of the field, New England would three times put the ball in the back of the net, but all three times from offside positions. In addition, Sean Johnson would be forced to make seven saves.

This week Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen break down the New England game and then take a look at a Ronny Deila with the help of a clip from Jake Beckhard of Blue Balls Podcast.

Episode 207:

Credit to Mike Coniaris (a name easier to spell than pronounce) for the title, but the tongue in cheek joke is appropriate.  NYCFC for the first time in club history has won a playoff round.  So in essence, Torrent accomplished something that Vieira failed to do in his two post-season attempts.
