Attitude Is Everything / Ep 205 / Blue City Radio

Episode 205:

One thing that NYCFC has succeeded in accomplishing is the identity of a team that finishes the regular season poorly.  That has not translated into Post-season success.  Dome Torrent hopes that his team can turn around the narrative as they face off against Philadelphia Union on Decision Day.

This week’s preview episode includes interviews with Anton Tinnerholm and Dome Torrent.

Audi Field Was Impressive, NYCFC, Not So Much / Ep 204 / Blue City Radio

Episode 204:

Here’s a challenge for you.  Attend a soccer match, analyze it, hop into your car and then discuss the game with a friend while driving on a highway for two hours.

That’s what co-host Mike Anderer attempted to accomplish on Sunday evening.  In this week’s episode J.R. deBart handles the hosting duties while Mike weaved his way up the Beltway and through Delaware following NYCFC’s first visit to Audi Field and a road loss to DC United.

This week’s episode includes comments from Alex Ring and at the end of the show an interview with Jonathon Lewis.

More Episodes Than NYCFC Goals / Ep 200 / Blue City Radio

Episode 200:

The title is inspired by a recent Zlatan quote following an exchange with Michael Bradley.  Zlatan quipped, “I’ve got more goals than he’s played games”.  Ibra’s quote was wrong and our title shares the same accuracy.  In fact NYCFC has scored 219 regular season goals to date and on the day that Zlatan scored his 500th goal, Bradley was appearing in his 562nd professional game.

It’s still fun and when celebrating a milestone, there’s always room for a little leeway.

Blue City Radio welcomes Tony Larsen from WaterTower FC back to the show to recap NYCFC’s visit north of the border to Montreal.  Mike, J.R. and Tony discuss the key moments from a game that saw Torrent play the 4-4-2, now with a healthier fuller squad.

In the middle segment NYCFC Nation’s Chris Magalee adds his thoughts on Dome and the reaction from the fans on the team’s recent run of form.

The guys close out the show sharing some of the followers’ thoughts on what has been an underwhelming last six games as NYCFC closes out the regular season clinging to that 3rd place spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Captain’s Plea As Road Woes Continue for NYCFC / Ep 195 / Blue City Radio

Episode 195:

In front of 521 Traveling Supporters NYCFC came out and crumbled in the second half of their match versus Philadelphia losing 2-0 in a heated physical battle.  Defender Ronald Matarrita would allow emotions to overflow with a foolish tackle to close out the game adding insult to injury.

Now the suspended player will join the injured Alex Callens and Jesus Medina on the sidelines leaving NYCFC with just 17 field players available for selection for Wednesday’s match versus Red Bull.

Mike and J.R. welcome Trey Fillmore from Blue Balls Podcast to discuss the game.

Welcome Dome, Now Beat the Red Bulls / Ep 186 / Blue City Radio

Episode 186:

NYCFC are 9-4-4 through the first half of the season.  It’s been a chaotic last few weeks in and around the club with the departure of Patrick Vieira and the arrival of Dome Torrent.  NYCFC took once again to the streets of New York City, specifically to the iconic Rockefeller Plaza in a partnership with Telemundo to bring fans a unique watch party experience.  To highlight that activation NYCFC held two media events on the mini-pitch at the plaza.  The first was Tuesday with players: Alex Callens, Jesus Medina, Alex Ring, Sean Johnson, and Rodney Wallace.  The second was with new Head Coach Domenec Torrent.
