NYCFC Gonna NYCFC and Dome Gonna Dome / Ep 206 / Blue City Radio

Episode 206:

NYCFC played their best game in well over two months and possibly longer.  The team played as a unit for the first time in a long time and from that NYCFC supporters should feel more confident heading into the Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. But many are also still baffled by some of the decisions of Head Coach Domenec Torrent.  On Sunday Torrent took off one of his key players for precautionary medical reasons and replaced him with a player that is still an enigma.

This week Mike and J.R. welcome Roddy Russell, Jr from NYCFC Nation to the show to discuss the Decision Day match and breakdown the key plays.

We also hear post game comments from Alex Ring and David Villa.

Attitude Is Everything / Ep 205 / Blue City Radio

Episode 205:

One thing that NYCFC has succeeded in accomplishing is the identity of a team that finishes the regular season poorly.  That has not translated into Post-season success.  Dome Torrent hopes that his team can turn around the narrative as they face off against Philadelphia Union on Decision Day.

This week’s preview episode includes interviews with Anton Tinnerholm and Dome Torrent.

Audi Field Was Impressive, NYCFC, Not So Much / Ep 204 / Blue City Radio

Here’s a challenge for you.  Attend a soccer match, analyze it, hop into your car and then discuss the game with a friend while driving on a highway for two hours.

That’s what co-host Mike Anderer attempted to accomplish on Sunday evening.  In this week’s episode J.R. deBart handles the hosting duties while Mike weaved his way up the Beltway and through Delaware following NYCFC’s first visit to Audi Field and a road loss to DC United.

This week’s episode includes comments from Alex Ring and at the end of the show an interview with Jonathon Lewis.

Soccer Day In NYC, US Soccer In CT / Ep 203 / Blue City Radio

This week’s episode Mike and J.R. discuss the Soccer Day activation and share audio from the event with NYCFC President, Jon Patricof, Sporting Director, Claudio Reyna, and players Alex Ring and Sean Johnson.

During the second segment the guys discuss the USMNT match versus Peru.  Following the game Mike was able to talk with Ben Sweat, Timothy Weah and Aaron Long.

Presidential Vacancy, USWNT Dominates, Herrera Returns / Ep 202 / Blue City Radio

Episode 202:

NYCFC hasn’t played yet this month.  In fact it won’t be until fourth week of the month until NYCFC plays their first match.  That delay might not bother NYCFC fans now that they know that Yangel Herrera is close to returning to the pitch.

There’s still plenty of soccer going on during this break.  There’s USWNT games in the Concacaf Women’s Championship and there are a pair of USMNT friendlies including NYCFC’s own Ben Sweat.

In this week’s episode Mike and J.R. welcome Trey Fillmore back to the show to discuss the recent stories around NYCFC and US Soccer.
