More Episodes Than NYCFC Goals / Ep 200 / Blue City Radio

Episode 200:

The title is inspired by a recent Zlatan quote following an exchange with Michael Bradley.  Zlatan quipped, “I’ve got more goals than he’s played games”.  Ibra’s quote was wrong and our title shares the same accuracy.  In fact NYCFC has scored 219 regular season goals to date and on the day that Zlatan scored his 500th goal, Bradley was appearing in his 562nd professional game.

It’s still fun and when celebrating a milestone, there’s always room for a little leeway.

Blue City Radio welcomes Tony Larsen from WaterTower FC back to the show to recap NYCFC’s visit north of the border to Montreal.  Mike, J.R. and Tony discuss the key moments from a game that saw Torrent play the 4-4-2, now with a healthier fuller squad.

In the middle segment NYCFC Nation’s Chris Magalee adds his thoughts on Dome and the reaction from the fans on the team’s recent run of form.

The guys close out the show sharing some of the followers’ thoughts on what has been an underwhelming last six games as NYCFC closes out the regular season clinging to that 3rd place spot in the Eastern Conference.

The Homegrown, The Still Unknown and the Original Nick Chavez / Ep 198 / Blue City Radio

Episode 198:

This week the guys try something different.  In a week with two games, most listeners would expect a return to our epic 2 hour recap shows with tons of analysis on the play.  Instead Mike and J.R. invite Nick Chavez from the NYCFC Football Podcast to have a conversation about a few key topics surrounding NYCFC.

They discuss Jon Lewis at length, James Sands and Dome Torrent’s tenure and struggles.

It’s not a typical epsiode, but we hope you enjoy it all the same.

NYCFC and Torrent Are Running Out Of Time and Excuses / Ep 197 / Blue City Radio

Episode 197:

NYCFC have been less than stellar on the road this season.  A departure from their form in previous seasons.  Head Coach Dome Torrent has struggled with the team’s inconsistency on the road and seems lost for solutions.

Mike, J.R. and Mike Allen take a look out the lackluster performance from NYCFC.  An uncharacteristic performance where the team lacked shape and positional discipline, NYCFC fell 2-1 conceding two goals in a matter of three minutes.

At the end of the show, Mike shares the conversation that he and Christian Araos had with defender Maxime Chanot from training last week.
