Mind Over Calf / Ep 88 / Blue City Radio

Turf Burn / Ep 87 / Blue City Radio

Episode 87

Following the win against DC United, Patrick Vieira gave the NYCFC players a few days off.  It would seem that only a couple of them returned from their hiatus ready.  NYCFC went into Gillette Stadium on Saturday and played one of their worst games in the team’s history.

Luckily for the Blue City Radio listeners two great guests join the show this week and neither is here to discuss #NEvNYC.  First Greg Lalas, a co-founder of Kicking and Screening and Digital Editor for MLS.com tells us everything we need to know about the 8th Annual Kicking and Screening Filmfest which kicks off tonight, Tuesday, September 13 at 7pm at Scandanavia House.

Following that conversation, Mike interviews NYCFC Youth Technical Director, Rodrigo Marion to get an update on NYCFC’s Academy teams and the other programs NYCFC has in place for youth development.

Back On Top / Ep 86 / Blue City Radio

Episode 86:

It wasn’t pretty, some times it doesn’t have to be.  It just needs to work. As Patrick Vieira forces his philosophy on NYCFC, we’ve seen it succeed and fail.  Vieira showed in the game versus DC United, that he is flexible to letting his players follow the flow of the game and make adjustments.

Mike and Jon discuss the electric game that currently stands as the most exciting in NYCFC history from last Thursday.  They breakdown the key plays and changes.

In the second segment, Brian Dunseth, former MLS Player and team mate of Jason Kreis, and current analyst and radio host, joins the show to give his unique perspective on NYCFC and the stylings of Patrick Vieira.
